The New Guy in Town By James Gavile Death was everywhere. As the traveler walked slowly to the twilight, he could see the village was, ravaged. Bodies lay in the streets, piled up like some prize in a hunt. He knew it was time again, but what if they soon forget their heritage? Can he fight him alone again. To many painful memories filled his mind. Are you reading my mind?" He thought. Are you watching me? The shadows surrounding him seemed to have gotten thicker, instinctively he reached inside his coat and waited. He wasn’t alone he knew it, they were slowly surrounding him, like a pack of wolves that was about to bring down their prey. And then they attacked. The vampires attacked swiftly, one managed to grab him from behind. He wasn’t startled it was a classic attack, he elbowed the creature at the ribs. Startled the creature let go; he leapt and delivered a roundhouse-kick across it’s jaw and sent it spinning. He then reached inside his coat and produced a wooden stake, without hesitation he drove it deep into it’s heart, it screamed then exploded into dust. But his job had barely begun, another vampire attacked, he threw the stake directly the vampire’s heart. The stake flew towards it and barely punctured it’s chest, he then quickly unsheathed his sword, he swung the sword swiftly towards the vampire’s neck. The vampire’ body collapsed minus it’s head. They left him he was sure of it, the attack barely wore him out. Slowly he sheathed his sword and went on his way. Chapter 1 California 1990 Michael Willmore was a little excited about High School, he managed to survive the first two weeks, without making a fool of himself. Now he’s considered one of the hot guys at Bayside. He had heard so many interesting things that happen in High School. He looked at his reflection in the mirror and grinned. He was tall and dark-haired, his hair was clean cut with a look of confidence in him. Not bad for a Sophomore! he thought. He buttoned up his Gucci shirt and got out of his room. His father was already at work so the house was pretty empty by now, But he was already used to it. Grabbing the keys from the kitchen table, he got out the back door, and started walking to school. Bright and sunny like any small town in Southern California. Throngs of student were laughing and talking as they crammed their way leisurely into Bayside High . "Liz!’ Michael exclaimed as he haven’t seen her for a long time. Liz Martinson was probably one of the most popular girl in campus. But to him she was always good old Liz. She was short petite, with dark blond hair and big blue eyes, and her face had that angelic look he found attractive. She smiled at him and said. "Your bright and cheery today!" "I know!’ he grinned. "aren’t you a least bit excited!" "About High School?" "Well, yes!" "Please! Stress, homework, term papers, more homework!" "Senior dance, Prom night, Spring Fling!" "Spring Fling? Keep telling yourself that!’ Liz encouraged. ‘it helps through the stress!" He grinned. Liz was always a bit snotty after all she was rich, but he knew it was all a facade. She would never act too stuck-up, they’ve been friends since; well since they were in kindergarten. "Is it me? !" A voice asked. "Or have you become a complete dolt?" Startled they both turned round. "Eric!" Michael greeted him. ‘how ya been?’ Tall and slightly muscular, Eric Hawkins was probably going to be the next Foot ball star of Basyside. Michael remembered even at Junior high school, Eric was great at sports and a favorite of the ladies. "It’s not you!" Liz answered. "It’s him!" Michael looked at them embarrassed. "So spill it!" Eric hesitated "New guy!" "I heard someone was transferring here!’ Liz added. "So what’s the dirt?" "New guy!" Adrian sat in the principal’s office, across the desk from Mr. Reeve. He was middle-aged physically fit, and has an air of authority in his movement. As he watched him, he pull his transcripts from a folder glanced through it, and turned a direct gaze on him. "Adrian Farenheights," he recited. "Sophomore, late of St. Peter High in San Diego!" Before Adrian could answer, he smiled and slipped the transcripts back in the folder. "Welcome to Bayside!’ He announced. "I’m quite impressed with your grades, I hope keep it up here." "I’ll try!’ Adrian answered assuring. "Go to the custodian, she’ll assign you to your locker," he went on. ‘and please remove those sunglasses!" Adrian obediently did as he was told. "Run along to class son, wouldn’t want to be late in your first day!" Adrian gave him a wan smile and left the office. In the hallway he quickly put on his sunglasses and started to search for the custodian’s office. His dark coat made him stand out, and it was inappropriate. The Californian weather was fair. He caught site of another destination, he went inside the boy’s restroom and gazed at his reflection in the mirror, he once again took of his sunglasses and looked directly at his eyes. "Damn!" he muttered. His eyes were still crimson. He awoken that morning and found that his eyes were slightly glowing crimson. Cassandra once said that it’s normal; ‘Your powers are growing this is one of the signs!’ she once explained. But right now his powers are spontaneous. He almost lost control of it once and now he had to be careful. Through the years he discovered that he had developed new powers. Powers that he never knew of. No one knew who he really was in this town. He was your regular tall, dark, and paler than usual Californian guy. Hearing the bell ring, he got out of the restroom and went to class. First Period wasn’t starting when he got there, students were talking casually with friends. He made his way across the room and sat at an empty desk. A few seconds later Liz entered the room, her mind somewhere else. She stopped when she saw the new guy seated next to her desk. Liz finally got a good look at him. He was strikingly handsome, with prominent cheekbones and a mysterious crop of blond-white hair. "Uh Hi!" she finally said. Adrian turned around; a girl sat at the desk beside him. "Your new right?" "Very perceptive of you!" he noted. She looked slightly embarrassed but smiled anyway. "Why don’t we start with ‘Hi, I’m Liz,"" She suggested. "Fair enough," he admitted. "Adrian!" "So where are you from?" she asked casually. "San Diego!" "So have you seen, the sight and sounds of Bayside?" "Not yet." Before she could ask another question, the teacher entered the room. "That’s Ms. Birch!" Liz whispered to him. "history and extremely boring!" "I see we have a new student!" Ms. Birch announced. "would you like to introduce yourself?" After a brief hesitation, Adrian stood up and faced the class. "Adrian Farenheights!" "Welcome to Bayside!" The teacher greeted warmly. "Thank You!" "So are you anemic or is that your natural color?" A student cracked. Some of the students laughed at the joke. "Don’t judge a person by their appearance!" the teacher reminded him. A few minutes later she started her lesson. Adrian gazed at the window, this class reminded him of his early tutoring in the castle. Boring and uninteresting, it took him several days before he got used with his teacher’s rambles. "Mr. Farenheights, are you with us?" Ms. Birch asked. He nodded. "Please be focused in the discussion. I know this is your first day.." He cut her off. " I understand!" Adrian thought the class would never end, finally the bell rang. "Do activities one to three pages 23-24!" the teacher announced. Liz glanced at Adrian. "Don’t be to glum, sometimes it happens to me as well." Adrian smiled for her sake. The two walked out into the crowded hall. Liz saw her friends and moved towards them . "So are you going to try out today ?" Eric asked. Michael shrugged and closed his locker. "I don’t know, I hear that the Coach’s a real slave driver." "Hi guys!" Liz greeted them. They both looked up as Liz sauntered over with a guy. "Hey!" Eric greeted them. "Are you busy?" "Not at all!" Michael assured her. "who’s he?" "Adrian this is Eric" Liz made the introductions. "and that’s Michael." "It’s nice to meet you guys!" Adrian said. "Well, were the welcoming committee , we wanted you to feel at home," Eric replied. "unless you have a scary home!" Your not wrong! Adrian thought. Michael nodded, convinced. "So. What do you like, what do you do for fun,... Let’s hear it." "Wow," Adrian’s tone was mildly sarcastic. "Everybody wants to know about me. How nice." "Well, not a lot happens in a one-mall town like Bayside!" Eric confessed. "your big news!" "I’m not. Really!" Before Eric could answer Liz cut in and said. "I think I’d better show him around so he won’t get lost!" "Okay,’ Michael agreed. "Care to join us later at lunch?" " Sure!" Adrian answered. Chapter 2 Liz luckily had a second period free, and showed Adrian around the school. After five minutes of sightseeing they stopped at the quad and sat at an empty bench. "So that’s the sights of Bayside High, I hope you enjoyed your tour!" Liz said. "and you can purchase your souvenirs at the cafeteria!" Adrian smiled. "So what’s your next class?" "Science!" "Well get going, Mr. Simmers isn’t that nice to latecomers!" "Thank you for the tour around campus!" "Any time! " She watched him as he walked away, and disappear into the crowd. Wow! Liz thought feeling goose bumps all over her body. Liz sorted through her packed lunch. Michael and Eric joined her at a table carrying their inedible cafeteria food. "Well?" Eric asked him. "Made up your mind yet?" "I’ll try out!" Michael finally answered. "What sport?’ Liz asked. "Basket Ball!" "Cool!" Liz looked around the crowd, hoping to find Adrian but he was nowhere in sight. "Are you looking for someone?’ Eric asked as he cautiously examined the cafeteria chili. "I was hoping Adrian would join us." Liz admitted. Michael shrugged. "The new guy?" Liz nodded. "Smart guy!" Michael noted. "I share math with him, and he aced the pop quiz Ms. Frost gave us." "What did you get?’ Eric asked with a grin. "B-plus!’ Michael answered proudly. "but he’s cool!" "Is he tall, slightly pale, buff, and has white hair?’ Eric asked. "Uh-huh!" Liz smiled. "I don’t know about the buff part though, but he looks like a kid from ‘Village of the damned!" "Here he comes now!" Eric informed them. Liz brightened and moved to make room for Adrian. "So," Liz started. "how’d it go?" "Not good." Adrian answered. "your right Mr. Simmers isn’t that pleasant! He kept wagging his finger.." Liz smiled at his side comment, then they noticed he didn’t bring a lunch-tray over, nor a brown paper bag. "Your not eating?" Eric asked. "What’s your next class, after lunch?" Adrian took out a folded piece of paper and gazed at it. "Gym" "Well I have gym after lunch!" Michael cut in. "We’d better get going. I was told Coach Cain is a real slave driver. " "Coach who?" Adrian asked. "He’s the new Coach!’ Michael explained. "He used to be in the army and then got transferred to Britain." "If your not to swamped in catching up, you should come to the Raven tonight!" Liz suggested. "The Raven?" "It’s a local club. It’s a club worth going to around here." "Where is that?" "About half a block from the good part of town!" "The food is great there!" Eric cut in. "but the best place for pizza is Ace’s." Michael nodded. "You should show tonight, maybe I can introduce you to some of my lady friends!" Liz whacked him at the back of the head. "What?" "Sure!" Adrian answered trying to suppress a chuckle. Adrian and Michael arrived two minutes late in Gym class. The first to greet them was none other than the Coach. Coach Cain to the students, a stern man in his early thirties, looked like a product of the army. His close cropped hair and muscular figure was pacing the room like a stern judge about to execute them. "Just because your new here, doesn’t mean you can just waltz in here!" he said angrily to Adrian. He then turned his attention to Michael. "And Willmore, I expected you to be responsible!" "Yes sir!’ Michael muttered. "I didn’t hear your friend!" Michael looked at Adrian. ‘Well?’ Cain demanded. Adrian didn’t answer. "That’s it, stop by my office before you go!" Michael couldn’t believe him. "Why didn’t you speak? Your first day in detention!" "I have my reasons!" Gym wasn’t as fun as Michael thought. Cain made them do some extra laps around the gym. He looked at Adrian through gritted teeth and whispered to him. "I think he’s trying to get to you!" Adrian shrugged and face his new friend. "It’s not going to work" "Well it is!" Michael snapped. "on me!" "Come on!" Adrian reasoned. "it’s not you he’s after." "Well that’s the problem!" Michael exploded. "Farenheights!" Cain yelled. "I’ll see you in my office after class!" Adrian nodded. "Hit the Showers!" Adrian was rummaging through his gym bag, he took out his extra clothes and towels. At that moment Michael got out of the showers and sat next to him. "Listen,’ he said trying to sound apologetic. "sorry I lost my cool on you!" Adrian looked at him and simply said. "It’s all right!" Michael regarded his answer. "Well at least you showed him a thing or two." Adrian smiled secretively. Cain was slightly impressed at his performance at gym, he had to admit he was showing off. "You should get dressed." He reminded him. "Yeah, so you going to the Raven tonight?’ "Yeah!" "Cool." The locker room was empty by the time Adrian finished showering. He quickly got dressed and strode into Cain’s office. "Okay, what’s the sitch?" he demanded. Cain didn’t look up when he entered the office. "I know who you are!" "Okay, who am I" he challenged. "Your a Belmont!" Adrian burst into high laughter. "That’s preposterous!" "You are!" Cain insisted. "I have photographs, videotapes that saw you in the Belmont estate in New York, and Romania." "I’m not a Belmont." Cain looked troubled. "I don’t understand this attitude. You’ve accepted your duty, and hunted vampires before- " "Well I accept my duty, but stop insisting I’m a Belmont!" "You have no idea what’s going on, do you?" Cain challenged him, his words tightly controlled. "Let me guess the Brudja Clan, right?" Cain eyes widened in surprise, "Well... yes! How do you know?" " Your a Watcher, right?" "Yes." "One who trains those who qualify to be hunting the vampires!" "Spare me the details." "Well I had one before, but he’s not as persistent as you are!" "Then you’ll do your duty?" "Yes!" Adrian quickly replied. "But let me put it into words you can understand!" he added a little irritated. "Go on, I’m listening." "Stay the hell out of my way! Cain looked slightly amused. "Just what I expected from a Belmont!" He turned to face Adrian again but he was the only one left in the room. Adrian had gone. Chapter 2 Night had fallen. Since the ghastly murders started to happen, no one dared to search inside the old Nest mansion. The three story mansion was once owned by the founders of Bayside, but when it’s last surviving heir was murdered three years ago, the town decided to leave the mansion as it is. Shadows slid across the mansion’s dark and crumbling walls, oozing into the corners and crevices. And the human figures walked silently across the halls, vampires were now the occupants of this landmark. Malcolm kept himself apart from the others, and well ahead of the rest, a threatening figure even upon his knees. His eyes closed, but was alert to his surroundings. He was powerfully built, his was a hideous example of what he is. Slowly he morphed back to his human face. To an innocent onlooker, he might have passed for a young man in his twenties-yet the truth was, Malcolm much, much older than that. His clothes reflected long-ago of an era that has passed for centuries. Slowly he rose and looked at the rows of coffins aligned in the room. "Soon!" he promised. Behind him the vampires gathered, waiting for their masters to awaken. Slowly the lids of the coffins started to slide off "Soon!" he repeated. "Brothers we’ll be united!" Chapter 3 Adrian decided to walk to the Raven. He could save time and fly to get there, but he might miss the place and someone might see him. So walking is the next best thing. As he left the safe lights of the suburbs behind, he found he was entering the deserted streets. Wondering how much further he’d have to go he turned in a corner. The sidewalk stretched endlessly before him. He couldn’t brush off that event in Cain’s office, the man was preposterous. "Me a Belmont!" Adrian muttered. The thought was ridiculous, well he may be a hunter but he was no Belmont. Finally he saw his destination. A good sized crowd milled aimlessly around the Raven. It certain wasn’t a fancy place, Adrian saw at once -in fact it was kind of a dive. But the place had an appeal that goes with the high-school-and-older-crowd standing in line. No standard of coolness here either, just a matter of paying three bucks. He quickly scanned the crowd for a familiar face, but recognized no one. He made his way across and spotted Eric. He was ordering a soda and he hurried to join him. "Hi!" Adrian smiled. "Hey!" Eric looked surprised. "So where are Liz and Michael?" Eric pointed at the dance floor. "Dancing!" Adrian looked at them, both of them were clearly enjoying themselves. "Are they?" he asked him struggling to keep his voice smooth. "involved?" "Nope!" Eric replied. "they’re just good friends! Eric then looked at him coyly. "Are you interested in Liz?" Adrian looked almost surprised at the question. "A little..." he admitted. Just in time Liz and Michael came from the dance floor laughing. "I can’t believe you did that?" Liz said playfully pushing him. "But you had to admit. I looked cute doing that dance!" Michael admitted. "Hey guess who decided to join us!" "Great!" Liz said smiling. Michael patted Adrian at the back. "So had trouble finding this place?" Adrian shook his head. "No. So you tried out for the varsity?" "Not yet." Michael answered. ‘do you have plans to try out!" "Yeah!" "Cool!" Eric added. "So what sport?" "Maybe Track, Foot Ball?" "How about you?’ Adrian asked Liz with a smile. "Not me!" Liz answered quickly. "I‘m trying out for the Cheerleaders. "You in a skirt!" Michael said incredulously. "I don’t know!" Adrian looked at her and cupped his chin.. "She looks cute in that outfit." "Thanks!" Liz said genuinely complimented. "So let’s begin the interrogation again!" Eric suggested. "How old are you?" Adrian face turned serious. He looked a little older than the other students, but who isn’t these days. "Seventeen!" Eric looked at him questioningly. "You look a bit older than the rest of us." Your not wrong again! Adrian thought. "It must be a drag to move!" Liz added. ‘Leave your friends!" "Nah, I’m used to it!" "So what about your parents?" Again he fell silent. Although he wanted to befriend them but they were going into uncharted waters. "They’re dead!" All three fell silent. "I’m sorry!" Liz said apologetically. "It’s all right. it happened a long time ago!" Adrian’s went quickly around the crowds. As he spotted someone moving along the balcony. "I’ll be back in a minute!" he promised. It didn’t take him long to find the stairs. He pushed his way pass the balcony, then managed to squeeze next to the railing that overlooked the stage. He leaned there trying to look casual, not even looking at Cain, who came to stand casually beside him. "So you party with the students." Adrian noted. "that’s new!" Cain smiled. "A bit unbecoming I must admit!" " This is a perfect breeding ground for vampire activity." Cain admonished him. "dark, crowded." " And a lot of teenage hormones that’s out of control!" Adrian added. " A lovely aroma to vampires!" Cain agreed. " So still insisting that I’m a Belmont?" Cain shook his head. "No, I called my superiors and they said that your a.." "Family friend!" Adrian finished for him. "so you convinced?" "Yes, so are you a Lecarde?" Adrian started to leave he didn’t want to hear him ask more questions, and his potential friends were waiting. "Who are you?" Cain asked. He stopped in mid stride. "You’ll soon find out!" As promised Adrian returned to the bar, Liz was about to order a soda when he sat down beside her. "So," Michael started the conversation again. "how do you like Bayside so far!" "Feel free to use boring suburb!" Eric offered. "How come?" Adrian asked earnestly. "Well not much happens around here." Liz added. "that’s how it got the name ‘boring suburb!’ But Adrian’s attention wasn’t on her, he gaze was fixed on a certain girl. "Are you with us? " Liz asked. "Yeah," Adrian quickly answered. "listen have to bail now, I’ve got a lot of stuff to unpack, if you know what I mean." "Okay see you on Monday!" He smiled for her sake and left in a rush. The vampire was starting to leave with her was a young man who had no idea, how dangerous his companion was. "So what’s up with him?" Eric asked slightly confused. "Let’s follow him?" Liz suggested. Michael rubbed his hands in mock anticipation "Oh someone’s checking the new guy out!" he teased. Liz rolled her eyes. "No, I just want to see where he lives!" "Okay your in Nancy Drew mode now!" Eric noted. "but that’s still called ‘Stalking!’" "Come on!" Liz pulled on Michael’s arm. Michael reluctantly stood up and followed her out. Eric sighed then followed them. The vampires date was certainly having second thoughts about this place, an abandoned building that was once a warehouse of some sort looked imposing at night. His date smiled and caressed his cheek. "You scared?’ she asked. "No." She smiled. He had to admit she was beautiful, tall and slender with those cool blue eyes, and short blonde hair. He was pretty lucky himself, being considered the biggest freshman nerd of Bayside high meeting a cool college girl. "What are you majoring on?" the guy asked. The vampire smiled and caressed his face again. "human anatomy!" The shadows inside the old building, seemed to have grown thicker. "Are you sure this place is safe?" "Positive!" She kissed him seductively at the neck. "No hickies!" he reminded her. "Whatever you say!" Then she bared fangs and buried them swiftly into his neck. He struggled but after a few seconds, the struggling stopped. Adrian looked around for the last time then entered the building. Liz and the others waited for a few seconds then got inside as well. The vampire took it’s pleasure slowly, poor ignorant boy was now dead, probably from the shock. She smiled seductively and kissed him at the lip, enjoying the wide eyed, terrified look on his yes. Then a metal pipe fell at the floor. Startled the vampire let go of her victim. Adrian walked casually towards her and. She hissed and bared her fangs. "Who do you think you are?" Adrian knelled beside the body and checked if it still had a pulse, unfortunately it didn’t. Sadly he gently placed his hand over the boy’s eyes and closed them and muttered a prayer. "Don’t mind me here I’m just passing by!" Another vampire stepped out of the shadows, this time a young man, who was dressed in a cheesy suit. "Can I have him?" "Be my guest!" "Adrian," a voice called him. He recognized it instantly, Liz’s. The trio was ran to him. Not noticing that grim expression on his face. Damn! Adrian thought angrily. what are they doing here? "What are you doing here?" Eric asked. Then they noticed the body at the floor. Blood flowing from an open wound on it’s neck. Michael looked like he was about to panic. "Oh my God, is he?" "Yes!" Adrian answered sadly. "So you’ve brought friends!" the vampire mocked. ‘how unfortunate for them, but good for us!" "Do you think so!" Adrian challenged her. At that instant cheesy guy lunged at him with lightning speed. With one graceful motion, Adrian whipped a stake from beneath his jacket and stuck it out. There was a dull puncture sound as the creature impaled itself. He stopped, eyes round in surprise and then he thudded to the floor. Adrian never looked at him. As he hit the floor, his body crumbled to dust. "Let me guess," Adrian asked in a mocking voice. ‘Neophyte?" She wasn’t cowed at the death of her comrade, and stood on her ground. "He was young," the vampire answered in disgust. "and stupid!" "Liz get out of here!" Adrian ordered. "Don’t go far!" She echoed. Obediently the trio did as he told them, they bolted out of the building. The trio gone, Adrian moved closer to the vampire and clenched his fists. "You know I never expected to run across you guys that soon!" Adrian informed her. "Too bad!" the vampire answered. "I just moved here, you know!" he continued. "What a pity!" "But you couldn’t wait for a while for me to settle down could you? or give me a few days before I start, You had to go suck on someone and make me notice it!" The vampire tried to slap him, but he easily blocked it and drove his knee to her stomach. Blood sputtered out of her mouth upon impact, he then followed it with a solid punch to her jaw. The vampire collapsed bedside the body. "I’ll kill you and tear you to pieces!" she swore. "Promises, promises!" He kicked her at the ribs. "Who are you?" the vampire glare up at him, fury in her eyes. Adrian planted a foot at her chest. " Care to take a wild guess?" Someone grabbed him from the throat and threw him across the room. "I don’t give a damn who you are!" Malcolm said slowly. Another vampire! Adrian thought. Great just great! "Your supposed to teach Thomas how to hunt Samantha and bring offerings to my brothers!" Malcolm berated her. "but you play with this child!" "We had some one!" Frightened now, Samantha tried to defend herself. "I had someone, but he came and killed Thomas.... Malcolm he’s strong!" Malcolm fixed Adrian a contemptuous stare. " There are three humans outside, hunt them down. I’ll see if I can handle the little boy!" Malcolm picked Adrian up, but he was ready for him. He kicked him at the shins, and followed it with several punches at the face. It sent him back, but instantly delivered a solid punch to his jaw. "You are strong!" Malcolm muttered. He slammed him to the ground and gave out a throaty laugh. "I’m stronger!" He tried frantically to fight him off, but pinned him with no effort at all. And then he simply stared down at him, contemplating him with gleeful animal hunger. He then bored down on him. Chapter 4 Liz, Eric and Michael made their way through the streets and into the alley. "The police station is not far from here," Liz gasped. "come on." "Those were vampires!" Eric said shocked. "when did vampires start popping out in town?" " Run now, Panic later!" Michael reminded him. The three stopped and stared, expressions of utter despair as three vampires stood waiting for them waiting. They backed of but Samantha was already behind them. Adrian swung the blade, missing Malcolm a few inches, the vampires reflexes were fast. But he also had that advantage. "Why waste my time boy!" Malcolm laughed. Then his eyes widened in surprise. Adrian took that chance, he rammed the blade through Malcolm’s stomach. The vampire staggered back and collapsed. Adrian bolted out of the building. "What now?" Liz asked. They were trapped, their chance for escape were pretty slim. The vampires surrounded them in a circle of death and teeth. "Now we can panic!" Michael suggested. "Try praying," Samantha added. "Although that never helps!" Suddenly one of the three vampires burst into dust, Coach Cain stood there stake in hand and clearly pissed off. "Get away from them you fiends!" he shouted. It took them a moment to register that they still may get out of this, but with lightning speed the vampires lunged them. Chapter 5 Adrenaline pumping, Adrian raced towards the sound of his friend’s voice. As he burst upon the scene he could see that Liz was on the ground trying to wrestle a vampire of. Michael was pinned on the wall. Eric, his unconscious body was being dragged away by Samantha. It was just the chance Adrian needed. "No, Nooo! Get-of-" Liz screamed. With one swift kick to his face, he sent the vampire sprawling backward. He gave a grunt of pain, then staggered to his feet, and holding his nose and trying to get away from him. Adrian scanned his surroundings, then immediately caught sight of Samantha still dragging Eric away. It was easy to take her out, one quick punch, Adrian knocked her off to her feet and scrambled to get up and get away. Liz ran up to Eric and knelt beside him, cradling his head in her arms. To his relief he seemed to be coming to, and after blinking a few times, he frowned up at her.
