Castlevania Legends
Considering that Belmont's Revenge has one of the coolest soundtracks you'll find on the Game Boy, the follow up certainly is disappointing. It's nice that some old favorites make a return, but other than a few OK tunes, there's little in the way of interesting music here.
Legacy of Darkness
There were a handful of new songs composed for Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, mostly for the new levels and some new cinema scenes. However, most of the music is the same. These are pretty much the most noteworthy tracks from the game. Too bad I couldn't get the intro without sound effects (and that loud burning) because it's a very cool piece of music. Oddly, the main theme for level 6 has the loud pops even on my television, so it's not a recording error on my part. Blasted N64. Outer Wall theme provided by JILost, all songs from "Bloodborn" on provided by Persmega X - these are also songs left off of the original Castlevania 64 OST.
Aria of Sorrow
After Harmony of Dissonance's slightly disappointing soundtrack, Konami swore by their very soul that Aria of Sorrow would better it in any way. Well, that's kind of an exaggeration, but things worked out for the best. This time the music is composed by Michiru Yamane of Symphony of the Night fame, as well as Soshiro Hokkai (who did Harmony) and Takashi Yoshida, who did the one arranged track on the Harmony of Dissonance CD. The sound quality now ranks up there with the better GBA titles, and there's some suitably rocking songs, including the Castle Corridor, Clock Tower and Heart of Fire, an arrangement of a few older songs. Other great songs include the Forbidden Area, Underground Waterway, Chapel and Prologue. Hopefully a soundtrack release will follow shortly. Music recorded my myself and Elbryan42 of the Castlevania Treasury
